considering my candidature for this role.
Brief background:
After initial schooling till 11th standard, I drifted off from mainstream education to pursue a Professional
certificate course in Tool and Die making. After successfully completing the core training of 2 years and a
6 month on job training at Singapore I worked in this domain for 4 years. I then took a turn back to
mainstream education and studied my 12th standard higher schooling, post which I wrote the state
common entrance test to gain a seat in Information Science Engineering. Did it with real zeal and vigor
completing the Bachelor's degree with first class results.
Experience journey:
I worked initially as a software developer for Mindtree and learnt about coding in a production
environment, slowly dusting off the academic way and learning industry dos and don'ts in IT. The project
was in a navigation domain, the product named - TomTom (Live services) here I learnt to use my SDLC
knowledge and C++, Perl, http among other software paradigms. I then got a chance to utilize my past
mechanical (tool & die) experience when I joined 3DPLM (now Dassault Systems) as QA Engineer started
into testing of a software, this time a CAD (Computer Aided Design) geometry kernel, testing the
geometry APIs using Scheme language and little of C++. While doing this job I got the opportunity to
work for more challenging role with Gexcon India Pvt Ltd. ( Part of Gexcon A.S. Norway) where the main
challenge was to set up a testing framework from scratch and to test a product which was in the market
for almost 30 years but never commercially tested from the software perspective as it was meant to be
a research software product. The main challenge was then to understand a product which I knew
nothing about. A CFD (computational fluid dynamic) software used to simulate real world physical
phenomena like Gas explosion, Gas dispersion and ventilation, fire etc. This was yet another
achievement for me personally, as I did not only understand the crux of the product but set up a testing
framework from scratch. Working in a Scrum team with global teammates, doing manual testing for an
ever changing product, defining the testing processes and protocols. It is exciting!
The buck does not stop there, I then pursued higher education whilst I was working and completed my
Masters Degree in Software Systems. To sum up, I have great fun in working and learning in tandem and
also in sync.
