Job Description
Migration And Cutover Lead Qualifications
- University degree in IT or related field
- Possess solid experience in leading and managing complex data migration and cutover activities for ERP or BSS implementation
- Prior experience in data modelling and analysis techniques and in using ETL tools
- An eye for details especially on data accuracies and completeness
- Ability to plan and lead from migration strategy to production cutover for business “go live”
- Possess strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail to ensure all issues reported are followed up with timely resolution.
- Excellent organizational, coordination and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines and coordinate with multiple stakeholders and vendors
- Ability to multi-task is essential
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset and Coupa would be an added advantage
Migration And Cutover Lead Responsibilities
- Develop the migration strategy and approach
- Collaborate with vendors, business owners and project team leads to define the migration strategy and approach on
- Data cleansing, data extraction, data transformation, data mapping activities required
- Data extraction mechanism from the source systems with 3rd party vendors
- Delivery of Data Migration Mapping Document
- Data synching and data integrity, availability, accuracies across different systems
- Data loading performance consideration
- Ensure all compliance to security and legal requirements for the data migration
- Resources arrangement for impacted platform SME & 3rd party vendors for migration activities.
- Lead and conduct workshops with various stakeholders to define the migration strategy and approach
- Identify and document the risks associated for the strategy and approach and provide mitigations for the risks
- Document the standard data migration strategy and approach adhering to the PPO governance standards.
- Collaborate with vendors, business owners and project team leads to define the migration strategy and approach on
- Create the plan for the migration tasks
- Aligning to the strategy defined, work with the PM to incorporate those tasks into the overall project plan
- Plan for multiple migration runs (sample trial, full load and dry run)
- Develop the associated resource requirements to achieve the planned tasks within the framework and constraints of the project
- Identify the dependencies with the PM and build those dependencies into the plan
- Develop the QA plan to ensure accuracy and completeness of data to be migrated, cleansed, populated and synchronized across multiple systems are accurate for current and historical data.
- Define what are the success criteria for this migration run and exception handling mechanisms
- Assign tasks to the owners responsible and timeline to deliver the milestone and run through plan with the migration team to get buy in and ensure alignment
- Execution of the planned migration tasks
- Work with migration partners including vendors to co-ordinate activities for the migration.
- Drive data cleansing activities with business stakeholders and provide timely reporting of data cleansing progress
- Validate loading of data hits maximum efficiency and accuracy of data populated within the new solution.
- Time the execution duration for the migration to plan for the cutover activities with a minimized black out window
- Perform data reconciliation after synching across various systems to ensure it meets the migration success criteria defined in the plan
- Track and Monitor Progress and provide status updates
- Create and maintain a progress tracker for all data migration activities and stages.
- Presentation of plans and progress updates to the project and/or program boards
- Provide regular status updates to the PM and relevant stakeholders on the migration activities
- Conduct meetings and workshops where applicable to drive the migration plan through in a timely manner
- Cutover to Production.
- Review freeze periods (if any) and recommend processes that is required to minimize business disruptions.
- Lead and collaborate with various vendors and platforms to define & govern cutover and rollback process and plan.
- Identify risks associated with the cutover and rollback plan
- Perform a dry run to mitigate cutover risks (depend on migration strategy)
- Present the detailed cutover plan, risks, black out window and launch date to the steering committee for endorsement.
- Get approval from the change management control board for the cut over
- Perform the final migration with the team and execute all reconciliation tasks
- Get business sign off the migration and then cutover to production
- Communicate to the stakeholders on progress of the cutover
