Job Description
We are seeking an experience Openstack developer to assist in building, modifying, and operating our existing accelerated cloud platform. The job will entail creating and managing multiple Openstack clusters, modifying Openstack services to enable advanced features, and planning future cloud architectures.
Responsibilities
- Openstack development and existing product enhancement projects focused on OpenStack based multi-tenant, dedicated private, and multi-site solutions
- REST API familiarity
- Coordinating architecture and dependencies with other teams in a broad technical context, and demonstrating an understanding of the consequences of technological choices within a multi-tenant environment
- Serving as an internal technical point of contact providing valuable, timely, and accurate technical leadership by sharing knowledge and best practices associated with Linux and OpenStack, but not limited to OS, virtualization, middleware, storage, network, messaging, automation and orchestration.
- Experience developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure or applications (Python, Ruby, Node.js, C/C++, JSON or YAML)
- Both Python and GoLang are highly desirable
- Understanding and experience with monitoring systems such as Zabbix and Halcyon
- Interaction with alerting tools such as PagerDuty
- Develop, test, and maintain scripted solutions as required
- Python, PowerShell, Bash, and GoLang
- Use modern development tools and environments (GIT, etc)
- Implement and practice common DevOps solutions
- Deploy and schedule with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or relevant other)
- Infrastructure management and manipulation of geographically dispersed data centre environments
- Data centre automation/monitoring experience
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of OpenStack projects to include; Nova, Glance, Keystone, Cinder, Neutron, Nova-Network, Swift, and Horizon
- 3+ years-experience designing, building and maintaining large-scale Open Stack based private cloud environments
- Strong UNIX/Linux background – AIX experience a plus
- Understanding of diverse virtualization platforms such as, but not limited to RedHat Virtualization, KVM (and variants), Nutanix Acropolis, ESXi,
- Strong understanding Object, Files Services, Block storage solutions
- Experience with message queuing systems and relational database management systems experience, especially, but not limited to MySQL, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ
- Hands-on experience with configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet, CFEngine, Ansible, etc.
- Hands on experience in installing, configuring, and administration of Linux based systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Strong understanding and experience leveraging RESTful APIs, and managing infrastructure as code
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or other related courses
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Individuals with experience working for a managed and/or cloud service provider preferred
