Job Description
DevOps, Tools & Platforms team at AirAsia focuses on a discipline that combines software and systems
engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. DevOps engineer ensures
that AirAsia’s internally and external critical systems and services—have reliability and uptime appropriate
to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement while keeping an ever-watchful eye on capacity and

someone to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur to be part of the Digital and Cultural transformation @
AirAsia.
Responsibilities
● Provide engineering solutions to design, build, and maintain efficient large-scale & highly
available systems and services.
● Increase AirAsia’s service reliability through establishing guidance and methods of improvement.
● Collaborate and cultivate relationships with multiple engineering teams to improve reliability,
stability and scalability of services.
● Ensure proper data and analytics to improve complex systems from a reliability and resilience
perspective.
● Identify and resolve problems relating to critical service operations and to prevent their recurrence
using automation.
● Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
● Able to design and implement end to end DevOps process continuous monitor solution by
utilizing real-time performance metric collection with dashboard visualization.
● Improve the incident management lifecycle to identify, mitigate, and learn from reliability risks.
● Be an awesome team member of the AirAsia Software Engineering & Technology team.
Requirements and Qualifications
● BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
● 7+ years of related DevOps or site reliability engineering experience.
● Must be comfortable coding in at least one of the following: Java, Python, GO, Perl
● Comfortable with reviewing code as well as writing programs needed in fully-automated DevOps
environments, as necessary.
● Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization platforms such as (GCP, AWS, Azure, Docker,
VMware/vSphere, etc.), Cloud Management and Cloud Analytics.
● Experience with automation using scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, Ruby, and/or Bash
as well as the configuration of infrastructure with code automation (e.g. Atlassian tools, Ansible,
Puppet, Chef).
● Familiarity with containerization concepts (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm or Mesos).
● Experience analyzing and resolving performance, scalability and reliability issues.
● Knowledge/experience with Application Logging, Monitoring, Performance Management such as
(AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic).
● Experience with web application environments, such as TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, DNS, routing,
load balancing, CDNs, etc.
