The Precinctive Collection is the follow up to the hugely popular PlayStation 2 game, Jak and Daxter. It features the main characters, known as the Lost Boys, and recreates scenes from all previous games in the series. The game follows the story of Jake O'Brien, a young orphan who is sent on a dangerous mission to find and kill an elusive enemy called the Preceptacle. The game is an open world where you can travel around to locate the different destinations and complete mini-games within your path. Each of the seven chapters in the game is beautifully illustrated, featuring amazing graphics and a great level of interactivity. In the beginning you meet up with Daxter, who is searching for his old friend, Jak, who has gone missing after going on a quest to save the Earth. He has gone missing because he was commanded by the Precinct to save the world, but was captured along the way and turned into a robot. The Precinct also wants to use him as a means of controlling the Earth, to control the energy supply and to prevent the humans from using the planet. The only way for Jak and Daxter to return to normal is to find all the other Precinct precursors, and to find the lost monkey. Once you have all the data from each destination, you are able to activate the statues to make the Precinct robots, and send them on their respective journeys.

Gameplay:

The game is very much like the first game in the trilogy, where you explore the world and collect items along your journey. However, in Jak and Daxter: The Precinct, you get to play as various forms of the hero. As you battle your way through the various stages, you get to see the different characters in their various forms, and battle them as well. Some of the characters include the traditional green-skinned character, the blue-skinned mentor, the purple race called the Spites, and last but not least, there is the black race called the Naders. There are also some side missions, and puzzles to complete as you complete each stage. The game is very much like the original trilogy, and has been designed to play smoothly and to use the Wii's unique motion controller to give a real feel for the gameplay.

Jak and Daxter: The Precinct features all the classic elements of the original trilogy, mixed with some new elements to make the game more interesting. The game starts in the usual fashion, where you have to save the Earth from the evil terrorists, who have attacked it. Your task is to travel through different parts of the world, and fight your way through the various missions, and collect the various items along the way. Along the way, you will encounter some familiar characters from the original trilogy, such as Dr. Eggman, and confront the evil Master Race, which consists of several humanoids in the game.

Gaming Modes:

The game is quite successful, considering that it follows the storyline very well. It gives the player plenty to keep their minds occupied, and does not drag too much from the story. The main storyline is just as exciting as the first trilogy, and the action is what you would expect from a game in this franchise. However, the game also introduces a new playable character, during the second part of the game, which was originally introduced in the second chapter of the original trilogy, Jak II. This character is called Master Gunnery, and he has his own storyline based around him.

The video game series doesn't have a clear protagonist in the beginning, but gradually builds up its hero, who is sent on a mission to save the Earth from an impending danger. The action becomes more intense as the game progresses, because the villain has also evolved over the course of the game. The adventure game has become more adventurous, although the storyline remains the same, and the video games still make great use of platform gaming.

The gameplay of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor's Trials is comparable to that of the first game, and there are only two difficulty settings - Normal and Adventure. The combat is more tactical than it was in the original trilogy, where you had to eliminate as many targets as you could without getting hit yourself.
