SCIKEY, a Marketplace network for Talent and Technology Solutions indicated that hiring activity in India indicates 30% decrease in Q2 2020 as compared to Q2 2019. The economy is showing signs of revival with companies hiring work from home employees. The quarter (Q2 2020) witnessed a 13% increase in the number of jobs allowing WFH as compared to Q2 2019. Furthermore, demand for contract workforce increased by 11 % in Q2 2020 from Q2 2019 and that of full time decreased by 13.8%.
IT sector indicating rebounds:
SCIKEY’s latest data shows a sign of revival in the IT and IT Services sector in Q2 2020 as compared to Q2 2019. IT and IT service sector are huge employers and hiring is picking up in this quarter.
Contract workforce and Full Time Workforce:
The coronavirus pandemic has given rise to a huge number of contract workers for a plug and play model allowing companies to reduce their hiring costs. SCIKEY data indicates that IT and IT services sectors have shown a rise in contractual workers and full-time workers in the IT and IT Services industry have contracted.
In the Packaging, IT, Telecom, ecommerce industry, some of the top job roles companies are looking for are developer, analyst, management profiles, tester, engineer, senior and consultants.
Sector wise skills in demand:
