One of the fondest memories of childhood I remember is with Amma, my babysitter who used to take care of me with so much love and care. My parents were working adults, thus Amma’s presence gave me a sense of comfort as she looked after me just like her own child. I still treasure her and miss her.

I was never quite adventurous as a child, but as I bloomed into adulthood, I became more adventurous, enthusiastic, and courageous, but I was always aware of my limits. I always knew the lines to not cross. This is a mantra that I apply to my life as well, and it has never failed me. Until recently, I was upset that I couldn’t bond with my father due to his strict nature, but now we have grown closer to each other, almost like best friends. Apart from my father, my husband is my pillar of strength as I draw my strengths and inspirations from him. He has always been supportive and pushes me to do my best. Focusing on my positive aspects, my husband drives me forward, preparing me for my everyday battle.

Being a woman entrepreneur during our time was a big challenge. We had started noticing as children as adults around us had started to get busy with their own lives. Even in my busy life, I made sure that we sat together as a family every day to have dinner and a good conversation. I have to admit, I am not great at balancing my work and personal life. But I try my best to play games with my children or bake and spend some quality time with them.

I believe in non-stereotyping genders. I am lucky to have an equal number of men and women working in my organization, Compass Mind Asia Sdn Bhd. We do not believe in inequality because of the diversity the company has to offer.

I do CSR works with a group of youth from our community, where I teach them about the importance of hygiene and first impressions before stepping into the future. After all, the way they look or carry their confidence will help them make a mark of their own in this world. On a corporate level, I work with organization on the topics of Diversity and Inclusion.

Women are just wonderful beings playing different roles, such as wives and daughters finding time for themselves and their families. I am proud of all women around the globe. I would love to be a Superwoman for a day, to fly around the world and tell women that they are working tirelessly and doing a marvellous job every single day.
